This Restaurant Week, we’re doing a little DIGging of our own. We’re diving into the Eat the Boot Facebook group to highlight the meals, moments, and must-order dishes people are sharing all week long. First up in this series is a stop at Elsie’s Plate & Pie, inspired by a post from local food connoisseur Craig Rowley.
Craig kicked things off with Lindsay’s Cheese Terrine, a dish that may feel unfamiliar to some at first glance. It’s the kind of appetizer Restaurant Week was made for trying. Creamy blue cheese, crunchy pistachios, and bacon jam come together with a balance of flavors and textures that make it memorable and approachable.
For his entrée, Craig went with the Shrimp & Grits, a dish Elsie’s has offered in several different versions over the years. This one earned a spot among his top-tier Elsie’s dishes, the kind of plate you’d order again without hesitation whenever it’s on the menu.
Dessert was the Dubai Hand Pie. Even for someone who doesn’t usually gravitate toward Dubai chocolate, this version worked. The flaky hand pie crust paired with hot fudge pulled everything together and turned it into a standout finish.
The consensus is clear: Elsie’s Restaurant Week menu is a strong showing from start to finish. With the rest of the week still ahead, there’s still time to take advantage of this limited-time offering and see why so many diners are talking about it. Restaurant Week is fleeting, but meals like this are the reason everyone looks forward to it all year.
This Restaurant Week visit and review were inspired by Craig Rowley’s post shared in the Eat the Boot Facebook group.
