Your New After Work Plan Lives on Luna Cocina’s Rooftop
Warm weather in Baton Rouge just hits different, especially when there is a rooftop involved.
If you have driven through the Overpass area lately, you can feel it. People are out again. Walking from spot to spot. Patio hopping. Lingering on sidewalks instead of rushing to their cars. The days are longer, the sun is hitting just right, and that perfect not too hot breeze makes it almost impossible to stay indoors. It is the kind of weather that turns a quick stop into a full afternoon out. That is exactly why Luna Cocina’s rooftop has been the move.
Happy hour at Luna Cocina feels like the kind of plan that starts casual and somehow turns into your whole evening. They are pouring ten dollar house large margaritas that were basically made for rooftop sipping. There is also buy one get one beer, five dollar shots, and ten dollar apps that make it very easy to say let’s order a few things for the table.
And by a few things, we mean nachos, empanadas, flautas, or the pick three dips option so everyone gets a little of everything. If you are feeling slightly elevated and a little fancy, the fourteen dollar tuna tartar is a solid play. It is light, fresh, and perfect for warm weather snacking.
The rooftop alone is worth the visit. Open air, city views, and that golden hour lighting that makes everyone look like they planned their outfit around it. Downstairs, the interior design brings its own moment with colorful details, moody lighting, and corners that practically beg for a photo. It is one of those spaces where you take one picture and immediately decide you need three more.
The best part about Luna Cocina’s happy hour is that you do not have to rush out when it ends. Stay. Order another round. Slide into dinner and treat yourself to something from their full menu. What starts as margaritas and apps can easily turn into a full table, shared plates, and one of those nights you did not plan but are very glad happened.
With this stretch of beautiful weather, the Overpass area is buzzing. Luna Cocina’s rooftop just happens to be right in the middle of it.
